From Desperation to New Life
James
By God’s grace I write this with over seven years clean from all mood- and mind-altering substances. I have a family and a home, and it all started with quiet prayers in the Geauga County Jail from a desperate addict who had nothing. God answered my prayers through Chaplain Ethan and the jail ministry. I was provided with a Bible, prayer, and support. The jail had more church sessions and Bible studies than any I had been in before. I was able to cling to God during those dark times and, more importantly, after release—to become a productive member of society and a homeowner. And I am able to give back today doing ministry at my church in Akron, something that never could have happened if not for those answered prayers in a jail cell.
